About Digital MicroEnterprise
Why...
All Big Things are Made of Little Things!
Building a big company is not a goal. Our goals are based on exponential impact comes from empowering who you can and paying it forward.
We believe in:
- Empowering others to make better decisions, not creating dependency
- Solving real problems, not just implementing solutions people think they need
- Building capability, not just delivering outcomes
- Constantly learning and teaching what we discover
Digital MicroEnterprise exists because these values matter more than scale.
Outcomes Before Technology
Most businesses start with “What tool should we use?” We start with “What are you actually trying to achieve?”
In engineering, you learn quickly that strategy comes before execution. When something goes wrong, you don’t just fix the symptom. You investigate until you understand why it happened, design the right solution, and then implement it. Getting the strategy right prevents expensive mistakes later.
That principle has been the foundation of everything Digital MicroEnterprise does. Always ask “why” until you get to root causes. Always determine why something is needed and use that knowledge to determine what needs to be done to achieve it.
How We Got Here
Digital MicroEnterprise started in 2013 with a clear vision: use digital tools to help small businesses work more efficiently.
We began with business process automation using Google Workspace. For years, we helped clients eliminate repetitive tasks and streamline operations.
But we kept noticing something important. Clients would come to us with what they wanted, and when we dug deeper into what they were really trying to accomplish, the solution we eventually built was almost never what they originally asked for. Sometimes it was completely different, and far more effective.
That realisation shaped everything about how Digital MicroEnterprise works. We’re not looking for clients who just need a pair of hands to implement something they’ve already decided. We’re looking for partners who want to investigate the problem properly and build a robust solution together.
As we worked with more clients, our focus evolved. We moved from automation to helping businesses understand what they should actually be measuring and why it matters. The principle remained the same: start with outcomes, work backward to determine what’s truly needed, then build the solution collaboratively.
Who's Behind It
Meet Kirwyn. I’m a mechanical engineer who spent over 13 years doing project engineering in the oil and gas industry. Engineering is essentially a fancy name for solving problems, and doing that effectively means getting to the starting point of “why”.
The why could be the business outcome of a project, where getting clear on that first brings clarity to what should be considered to achieve it. Also, having been part of several investigations for industrial incidents, you start with what happened and ask “why” until you get to the root cause, gaining the understanding needed to prevent it in the future.
My end goal was always to have my own business at some point. So how come I did not do one based on my trade? Well, I’ve always had an affinity for computers and programming because I can’t stand tedious work. Automation and systems thinking are second nature to me, and it also became clear to me the leverage software provides. Then one day I helped a teacher friend automate some of their tedious work with Google Sheets, then discovered businesses had similar needs.
When I left corporate work to build Digital MicroEnterprise, I knew I didn’t want to build a big company. I wanted to focus on impact: helping who I can, solving real problems, and paying it forward by teaching others to think strategically. It’s about building a business aligned with specific values; doing meaningful work, empowering others, and constantly learning.
How We Work
We Start With "Why"
Every engagement begins with understanding what you’re actually trying to achieve. Not what you think you need, not what everyone else is doing. What outcomes matter for your business.
We use collaborative processes like Impact Mapping and User Story Mapping to ensure we’re solving the right problem before we start building solutions.
We Discover Together
We don’t hand you a template and disappear. Strategy development is collaborative because your business context matters. Our role is to bring the framework and facilitation; your role is to bring the business knowledge. Together, we define what success looks like and how we’ll know we’re making progress.
The vast majority of the time, what we eventually build is not what clients originally came to us requesting. That’s not a failure of planning. It’s the natural result of proper investigation.
We Teach, Not Just Do
Our goal isn’t to make you dependent on us. When you understand the principles behind strategic thinking (why certain approaches work and others don’t, how to ask better questions, how to design solutions that actually address root causes), you can apply that thinking long after our engagement ends.
You won’t just get a solution. You’ll understand how to think strategically about any future challenge.
What We Do
Digital MicroEnterprise currently specialises in Actionable Measurement, helping small businesses move from drowning in data to making confident decisions based on our Actionable Measurement Framework.
We work primarily with Marketers and SMBs (particularly ecommerce and service-based businesses) who need a collaborative partner to think through their challenges, not just someone to implement a predetermined solution.
When you work with Digital MicroEnterprise:
- You work directly with the strategist, not an account manager three layers removed from actual thinking.
- We stay focused on your outcomes.
- Being intentionally small means we can be selective about partnerships, working only with clients who want a collaborative partner to determine robust solutions.
Where We Are
Digital MicroEnterprise is based in Trinidad & Tobago and serves clients around the globe. Founded in 2013, we’ve spent over a decade helping small businesses think more strategically about the problems they’re trying to solve.
